The joint research laboratory is meant to be a think tank on the topics of conflict negotiation and mediation for companies and other complex organizations based inside the University of Florence. Its main targets are:

• University- enterprise joint theoretical and applied research on mediation and negotiation techniques and goals, publications of protocols and guidelines;
• Carry out, Completion and Implementation of third parties' commissioned research and pilot projects;
• Offer training courses in mediation and negotiation legislation and techniques;
• develop effective conflict management methods in companies and in other fields such as: business, society, private entities and public activity;
• promote the necessary initiatives to diffuse the knowledge and use of mediation;
• promote a never ending dialogue among the different organizations operating in conflict mediation with the aim of working together in facing needs and operational difficulties found in each field and develop best practices
